Disc magnetic coupling(also planar magnetic coupling) consists of two half hubs with powerful magnets. The torque applied to one disc is transferred through an air gap to the other disc. The transmittable torque can be varied by adjusting the air gap. Using the principle of interaction between the attraction and repulsion of strong magnets, It’s a power transmission device for non-contact space transmission

 

The requirements for the installation environment of disc magnetic coupling are relatively low. It adopts multiple N-S rare earth magnets. When the motor rotates, N pole and S pole attract each other to form torque. And in a certain range of torque, to achieve synchronous rotation.

 

 

Features Of Non-Contact Magnetic Disc Coupling

Axial misalignment – Mildly Tolerant. The amount of torque transmission is directly proportional to the axial spacing and number of magnets utilized in the design. Small variations in air gap may lead to large changes in torque

 

Radial misalignment – Highly Tolerant.

 

Angular misalignment – Tolerant. Due to the relationship between torque output and axial spacing, high angular misalignment may lead to unexpected torque reductions.
